Camping is something that can be done all year round but I think most campers will agree that the Summer and Spring seasons are the best. While there are plenty of things you need to ensure your camping is a relaxing and safe experience the most essential part of anyone’s camping gear is a tent.
Tents come in many different forms though and there are plenty of different manufacturers. So, finding the best tent for the sunny summer weather isn’t always going to be a simple straightforward process.
But I can help, below I’ve outlined some of the best tents for the summer. So, if you are thinking of spending some time outdoors this year or want to upgrade to a new tent read on to find out which tents are best for summertime camping.
Happy Camper Two Person Tent – Wakeman Outdoors
Two people tents have a bit of a bad reputation one piece of advice most experienced campers will give you is to always go a size-up when it comes to camping. So, following that advice this two-person tent is better suited for a single occupant, while the extra room is always nice this two-person tent from Wakeman Outdoors can actually accommodate two people in my opinion with room to spare.
Made from thick durable nylon with a wide D-shaped door this tent might look a little by the numbers at first but it is ideal for couple camping or for lone campers looking for some extra space. Easy to set-up and store away it might not be the most luxurious tent but it certainly does the job and is perfect for people looking for a bargain.
Sierra Designs Summer Moon 2 3-Season Tent Silver Lining / Blue Jewel 2 Person – Sierra Designs
With a name like Summer Moon, you can probably guess that this tent from Sierra Designs was designed with sunny day camping in mind. It is a more expensive option but perfect for people who want a more relaxing camping experience.
Designed to be free-standing with a very quick simple set-up this tent is perfect for people looking for a quick assembly and thanks to the poly taffeta construction this tent will be very lightweight. This means you will feel more relaxed and content without the risk of getting overheated in your tent.
Marmot Tungsten 3 Person Tent
Designed for sunny hot days the Marmot Tungsten is perfect for couples and groups of friends who want a larger tent. There is increased ventilation mesh around the tent to help you stay cool and taped seams for extra strength and protection. The tent also features a softer padded interior for increased comfort. It might be more expensive than some other three persons tents but it is ideal for the summer and sure to be a long lasting investment.
Vango Beat 200 Tent
The Vango Beat 200 might look a little no thrills at first glance but it is actually a good summer tent for a bargain price. While there is no denying this tent lacks some of the luxuries found in more expensive options thanks to its domed design and increased mesh it is actually perfect for warm summer days. The rain stop door is also ideal for those unexpected downpours this is the UK we are talking about so some showers are to be expected even during the Summer.
Halfords 4 Person Double Skin Tent
While this tent from Halfords might be designed to accommodate four it really shines when used as a three-person tent thanks to the extra free space. Available for a great price and with improved insulation, this summer camping tent is perfect for short camping trips and would make a nice first family tent. The bargain price makes it ideal for first-time campers and while the assembly might take a bit longer than some alternatives you have relaxing secure tent to enjoy once it is done.
Regatta Malawi 2 Person Pop Up Tent
This is another fine tent for people looking to take weekend summer camping trips and thanks to its classic tunnel design it is easy to set-up and assemble. The increased padding on the bottom also helps ensure a more comfortable fit wherever you set-up camp.
The mesh at the top of the tent and a large front entrance also help make it more relaxing for warmer sunny days. The cheaper price also makes it ideal for first-time campers as well, it might not be the most luxurious option from the tents I’ve looked at but it is still great for summer camping trips.
