Matches or fire starter
All survival kits must always include a means for making fire. Whether it is for building a bonfire to keep you warm on a cold night, or to cook food or boil water, matches and fire starters can go a long way in ensuring your survival out in the wilderness.

Compass and Map

Flashlight and extra batteries
Nights in the great outdoors are completely different from what you are used to, and having flashlight and extra batteries can help you stay safe.
Always a must for survival kits, food in the form of food bars can come in handy when your stomach starts to grumble.

Stainless steel water container
Aside from being a good container for your water, this can also be used as a vessel for boiling water to ensure that it is safe to drink, especially when the water came from questionable sources.
